Medina County’s population aged 65+ represents 17.9% of the county’s 179,746 population, almost 2% higher than the national census estimates for 2019. To serve our older adults’ needs and interests, the nonprofit organization, Medina County Senior Services Network (MCSSN), has since 1994 been offering resources and assistance tailored to them.
The MCSSN Senior Solutions Guide (formerly The Source), the only and most comprehensive directory of its kind, is published every two years and direct mailed to 20,000 households where there is at least one resident aged 60. An additional 5,000 copies are distributed through physicians’ offices, social workers, senior centers, senior events, and upon request.
Advertisers will be listed on the MCSSN website and Facebook posts are shared on the MCSSN Facebook page. A digital version is also available online at the MCSSN website. Inquiries via the website and Facebook are forwarded to appropriate providers.
The publication has a 24-month shelf life and the next issue is due out in late August 2020. Advertising pays for the production, printing and postage of the guide, as well as grants to support other area nonprofits serving older adults. Past recipients have been Feeding Medina County and the Village of St. Edward in Wadsworth.
